Description

Good Calcite specimens from the Hungarian Gyöngyösoroszi deposit appeared in the 1970s and 1980s, particularly, but not exclusively, on Austrian mineral shows. However, they disappeared again quite quickly over the years and are now among the most sought-after mineralogical collector´s items from the former Imperial and Royal Monarchy. I am quite happy that I can offer one of these Calcite specimens: colorless to white Calcite scalenohedra about 1.5 cm long, some of which have grown into rosettes like stars. They are very aesthetically and contrastingly exposed on a gray, Sphalerite-rich quartz matrix. A top specimen that is hard to find on the market these days.
