Description

This is a great example for scalenohedral Calcite crystals from Leiping, China: An excellent specimen with spiky, light brick-red crystals about 3 cm long. They are just perfect pointy scalenohedrons with very good translucency and an excellent adamantine luster. The larger (1. generation?) crystals have very beautiful phantoms when viewed from the side. The smaller ones, let’s call them 2. generation, are a little less translucent but still perfect. Specimens such as this on were found around the turn of the millennium and are now quite sought after.
