Description

This striking Baryte specimen is nicely composed of superbly formed but highly flattened amber-golden Baryte crystals to 4,6 cm, wonderfully exposed on Quartz bearing matrix. The specimen is from the classic Zobes-Bergen mining district in Vogtland, Saxony, Germany; an area containing about 11 known mines. The major crystal here, and its smaller "cousins" as well, are sharp edged of course, mirror bright and their edges and corners are aesthetically accented by glistening, brassy Pyrite coatings. This circumstance give this already beautiful specimen more dynamics and dramatics. Very minor edge wear what doesn´t detract from the exceptional, well balanced overall aesthetics. One of the best Barytes from this locale we ever handled.
