Description

A unique specimen with two wonderfully intergrown Tetrahedrite tetrahedrons perched on small beige Siderite rhombohedrons. The Tetrahedrite is beautifully coated with a thin film of golden Chalcopyrite with a metallic luster. This is a piece from the classic Harz locality Zilla Mine, which worked the ore veins of the Rosenhöfer Gangzug near Clausthal-Zellerfeld in the Harz Mountains. The mine was only in operation between 1797 and 1812, which gives an indication that only a few specimens have survived the centuries and are therefore rare and sought after. And this specimen here is an absolute KILLER PIECE. A rare yet aesthetic specimen that is practically not available on the market. It comes from the collection of Dr. Thomas Raber and is accompanied by an original label from the collector.
