Description

This is an incredibly rich combination specimen packed with absolute rarities such as large snow-white clusters of the rare Sodium-Beryllium silicate Epididymite from the world-famous Mount Malosa pegmatites in Malawi. The foliated, very thinly tabular but blocky, intergrown crystals have partially frayed terminations, a wonderful silky luster and reach a length of almost 4 cm. They are associated with dark smoky brown Quartz with a vitreous luster, and olive green to black Aegirine crystals. The highlight of this ultra-rare specimen, however, is a slightly altered barrel-shaped Parisite-(Ce) crystal measuring 2.4 cm, which is transforming into the extremely rare Cerianite-(Ce). This superficial transition, analyzed by Geomineralservice Intl., started on the crystal faces an has become a quite considerable layer by now. As I already mentioned, a super rare combination that has not been offered in this form for a long time. This find from 2008 was previously housed in the Walter A. Weber collection.
