Description

Look at this relatively large, 5.8 cm tall Parisite-(Ce) crystal on a small piece of matrix. The rare-earth fluoro-carbonate Parisite-(Ce) is fairly unaltered, it is beige-brown with a glassy luster. On one termination, a minimal imperfection is visible where a piece of the thin layer of the superficial alteration has flaked off. The matrix is a hodgepodge of small prismatic Quartz crystals and thin-tabular black Aegirine. This is definitely an impressive Parisite-(Ce) crystal on a very well balanced specimen from the Walter A. Weber collection.
