Description

This very excellent specimen is probably the best Pyrochlore specimen in the pegmatites of Mount Malossa. It was found in 1999. Numerous “Textbook” Pyrochlore crystals have extremely sharp edges and, as far as I can see with the unaided eye. The chocolate-brown, highly lustrous 4 mm octahedra are perched on the prism face of a jet-black Aegirine specimen that measures 4.6 cm tall. This main crystal has a mirror bright luster and is perfectly terminated. This is an absolute killer specimen for the locality. An Ex Walter A. Weber collection specimen.
