Description

This classic specimen from the Portuguese locality Panasqueira is from the late 1980s, and hosts a good half dozen well defined, thick-tabular, hexagonal Apatite crystals. They are light olive-gray in color and up to 1.4 cm in diameter. The gemmy crystals with a vitreous luster are translucent on the edges and more opaque in the centers. They are associated with plenty of tabular, thin silvery Muscovite and some acicular dark brown Tourmaline. Even at low magnification, black Cassiterite crystals can be detected. A typical and attractive combination specimen, and the minimal scratches are hardly noticeable and do not affect the overall aesthetics.
