Description

This is definitely an ULTRA-RARE locality piece, more precisely a one-time find of Dr. Manfred Schönfelder, Leverkusen. In the late 2010s he discovered a bunch of miarolitic cavities at the pegmatites around Penalva do Castelo in northern Portugal. This specific find is very precisely described in Lapis 5/2018 p. 24 - 31. Here we have a superb combination piece with dark BLUE six-sided Apatite crystals to 0,8 cm in diameter accompanied by creamy and glassy Albite, a single Smoky Quartz and bladed, silvery Muscovite. The Apatite is well formed, gemmy and it features great luster. The specimen comes with the original index card No. 872/5515049 from the former collection of Dr. Schönfelder.
