Description

Here we have a fine and nearly solid, weighty, lustrous specimen of massive, metallic, Breithauptite with metallic, orange-brown Nickeline with minor Quartz from the famous Cobalt area of Ontario, Canada. A very rich small cabinet sized specimen of the rare nickel-antimony alloy Breithauptite. This species is named in honour of Johann Friedrich August Breithaupt (1791-1873), a professor at the Bergakademie in Freiberg who founded and developed the idea of paragenesis.
