Description

Extremely sharp and well defined elongated crystals of Native Silver from the famous Mexican locality Batopilas in the state of Chihuahua. The Silver crystals, which are silver-white in color as well as slightly covered with patina, reach a considerable length of 1.6 cm. The Spinel-twinned crystals are partly doubly terminated, and associated with some white, translucent Calcite. In the lower sections, the crystals are rather squat but euhedral. The specimen most likely comes from the famous find of the late 1960s, which provided a large number of high-quality crystallized Silver specimens, which spread around the world over the years and has now become a rare commodity.
