Description

This is an excellent miniature-sized specimen with a somewhat indistinct Molybdenite crystal cluster with a diameter of 1.6 cm on a matrix of white “Fettquartz” (opaque massive Quartz with a greasy luster). Although this appearance is not unusual for Molybdenite, such rich specimens were generally rare in the Saxon Erzgebirge. I have to admit that pieces with this aesthetic appeal are practically unknown to me. This is certainly old material that I haven´t seen outside of museums for ages.
