Description

This exceptional specimen evokes memories of Malachite from Siegerland, but it is very typical for the abandoned Anna Quarry near the town of Letmathe, east of Hagen in North Rhine Westphalia, Germany. This is an exceptional “locality piece” with a relatively wide open vug in a Chalcopyrite-rich matrix that hosts numerous deep-green Malachite sprays to almost 1 cm. Specimens of this quality are very rare and are almost never seen for sale on the market. This is from the collection of Dr. Schönfelder, who collected this piece himself in the 1980s.
