Description

A beautiful classic specimen of Baryte from the famous locality of Pöhla in Saxony. Nestled on a matrix of massive tan Quartz are gemmy, amber-golden, lustrous, spear-like, crystals of Baryte associated as beautiful and sparkly clusters. They are uniformaly super sharp, super lustrous, and very bright and glassy. This is a very high quality for the now closed locality. These were mined and stashed in Soviet days and came to market widely only when the wall fell. Now, this hoard dispersed, they are extremely hard to obtain today in this quality level. Only minor imperfection, hard to see to the naked eye. A great and very aesthetic piece.
