Here we have a superfine specimen of multifaced and excellent defined, sharp Calcite crystals from well-known Kazakh locale of Rudny. This magnificent, gem twin of Calcite is complete all around, 360 degrees, with only one minor imperfection on the backside. It is extremely sharp with no wear or water-smoothing which you sometimes see on the edges of these classic twins. They came out in the early 90s from this garnet mining town, and haven´t come out since. I have seen many of them over the years and especially during the heydays of this mine they were not that appreciated than they deserved. But the times have changed and good specimens like this more and more disappeared from the market. Now they are relatively uncommon and good specimens are sought. It has excellent, bright colour as well as top luster. This was an unpaid specimen of a former auction.
