Description
This is one of the few excellent Hematite specimens from a cleft that was shrouded in secrecy for many years. It was worked by local Black Forest collectors Johannes Kaiser and Hermann Spitz from 1981 to 1983 to recover specimens and successfully kept secret to keep claim jumpers out. The host rock is extremely hard and tenacious Granite and as a result, only a few undamaged specimens could be recovered. However, this one made it out undamaged. Its blocky, black, metallic crystals are up to 0.8 cm tall and abundantly cover the display side. This is a perfect specimen from material is no longer on the market.
