Description

A massive but excellent specimen of the relatively rare Iron Phosphate Rockbridgeite from the Iron deposits of Nitzlbuch near Auerbach in the Upper Palatinate, Bavaria, Germany. The specimen was sawn and lightly polished to emphasize the radial structures of Rockbridgeite, while the edges and the back show the botryoidal structure of the species. The color is anthracite with an olive tinge. A classic specimen that was found in 1938.
