Description
A light lemon yellow single translucent Beryl crystal. It is sharp, hexagonal in cross section, and doubly terminated. Not quite perfect but still, an extremely rare locality piece. A great Bavarian thumbnail from a small Quartz mine in a Phosphate Pegmatite in the contact zone between a Mica granite and a Garnet gneiss. The mine, which once was the largest and most important Quartz mine was abandoned back in 1924. The underground workings were subsequently backfilled and the entire region was turned into a nature preserve.
