Description
Almost colorless Datolite crystals with a faint green hue from the Roncari Quarry in Connecticut. John Sinkankas´ description of the species in his book Mineralogy for Amateurs (p. 547) is a perfect fit for this specimen: "glassy, faintly greenish, wedge-shaped crystals with odd-shaped faces seemingly placed at random". The Roncari Quarry is an active aggregate quarry, just look out of the plane window next time you fly in or out of Hartford-Bradley International.
