Description
Well-formed Bournonite crystals with a mirror shine on matrix. The Bournonite is associated with translucent, thin, disc-shaped Siderite crystals, light beige in color as well as small sparkling Quartz crystals. The specimen is from the venerable Georg Mine near Willroth in the German Westerwald, the Classic locality for the world´s finest Bournonite (according to collectors). This specimen is considered classic material from the mining period that ended in 1965 when ore reseres of the large vein of manganese-bearing siderite ran out.
