Description
Clusters of egg yolk yellow-brown, typical barrel-shaped, Mimetite (var. Campylite) crystals abundantly cover the display face of the specimen. The crystals clusters show a fine vitreous luster and are damage-free. A very aesthetic specimen in excellent condition. And it is from the "type locality" for the variety Campylite: the Dry Gill Mine of Cumbria, which Cooper & Stanley (1991) called "... of little commercial significance, this mine is one of the most famous mineral localities in the world." This is a classic Cumbrian specimen from a classic locality.
