Description
A rare specimen, self-collected about 20 years ago by German collector Dr. Schönfelder in a Portuguese Quartz-Feldspar quarry that was last operated in 2006. It used to be a good location for nice pegmatite minerals, however, today it is partially overgrown and flooded.
Short prismatic, mid-bluish-green, gemmy, hexagonal Apatite crystals with a mirror luster perched on faint smoky brown smoky Quartz and creme colored Microcline. The Apatite crystals show striking contrast to the Microcline feldspar, but bear in mind that this specimen is much better in person! Minor damage do not distract form the beauty of the specimen. Collectors´ pieces from this rare locality are next to impossible to find on the market.
