Description
The Maubacher Bleiberg tells the sad story of so many classic European mineral localities. After centuries of productivity, it gets abandoned (in 1979), used as landfill, and finally disappeared from memory. Fortunately there is the occasional mineral specimen that keeps this memory alive. Such as this "weird" combination of Galena crystals perched on a pebble! No surprise, the deposit used to be a greywacke-quartz conglomerate with minor ore zones. This is an incredible unique specimen in super condition.
