Description
Here we see a red-tinted cluster of English Calcite owes its pleasing colouring to a dusting of Hematite. Calcites from Egremont, England, are very popular among Calcite collectors and those of worldwide species alike. And here we see numerous sharp, scalenohedral Calcite crystals to 1,5 cm in lenght produce this attractive grouping. The Hematite dusting was deposited very late in the history of this piece as it is included into the final stage of Calcite formation. The Calcites have good luster and are in excellent condition with only one very minor edge wear, hard to see and doesn´t detract the overall aesthetics. Classic style and colour, but so hard to come by in this nice shape.
