Description

This is a very fine specimen of Childrenite from the famous classic English locality George and Charlotte Mine at Tavistock Hamlets, Devon, UK, which is the classic location for the finest Childrenite found in the UK. And this specimen is no exception. The display side presents itself with numerous wide-open vugs as well as entire faces of the matrix that are richly covered with excellent amber-brown Childrenite crystals. The crystals are highly lustrous and have excellent striations. Childrenite is a relatively rare Iron Manganese Aluminum phosphate and this is one of the finest and richest specimens of this species and locality that I have seen in recent years.
