Description
Here we see a beautiful flower-shaped small cabinet sized cluster of gray Calcite from famous Herja Mine of Maramureș in Romania - actually consisting of stacked, thin, flattened rhombs, though they do not appear to be at first glance. The gray colour is due to inclusions of fibrous Plumosite crystals. Highly aesthetic, and in pristine condition. This is a superb sample from the heyday of this great locale and probably mined in the early 1980s.
