Description

The Roßbach Iron mine in the municipality of Puderbach, located approximately 20 km south of Altenkirchen has been abandoned a long time ago. Over its active period, it delivered a whole range of beautiful Iron and Manganese oxides, sometimes in very excellent specimens, which are now rare and sought after. Typical were those specimens, just like this one, that looked like bizarre mountains and were almost completely covered with extremely fresh, highly lustrous crystals. Even at low magnification, the high metallic luster with a steel gray, slightly bluish color and the absolute sharp edges can be seen. A top specimen from days long past that is practically no longer offered today.
