Description

A big fat hexagonal cluster of silvery gray Molybdenite from Onganja, about 100 km northeast of Namibia’s capitol of Windhoek. It has a strong metallic luster, and has no matrix attached; very typical for the species from this locality. Molybdenite actually is relatively rare from this famous deposit and in this case, it is also a fairly old piece. Evidenced by the historic, handwritten label that comes with the specimen, which in my opinion most likely dates from between 1900 and 1920. In any case, this is an extremely rare TOP piece!
