Description

The main attraction on this specimen are two intergrown thin-tabular Brookite crystals, the larger one measuring 1.5 cm tall, on white, sparkling Quartz matrix. The wafer-thin Brookites have a wonderful luster and beautiful translucency that beautifully reveals the step-by-step crystal growth as well as a hint of an hourglass structure. The longitudinal striation and the beveled edges are not only typical but also excellent. The two main crystals are absolutely undamaged as far as I can tell with the unaided eye. Furthermore, numerous mostly perfect Brookite crystals are scattered throughout. A significant and very good matrix specimen! All Brookite specimens included in this update come from a find from the early 2000s. Due to the relative fragility of the freestanding Brookite crystals, they are cast in a special water-soluble resin for protection before they are shipped.
