Description

This is a superb Brookite specimen with a wonderful single crystal, beautifully exposed, slightly off center, and associated with water clear small Quartz crystal on a typical matrix. It displays characteristic beveled corners, a great luster and superb longitudinal striations. The dark reddish-brown crystal is translucent, and in transmitted light, it shows a hint of an hourglass structure. The almost 2 cm tall crystal is perfect as far as I can see with the unaided eye. A top specimen, pristine on both sides. All Brookite specimens included in this update come from a find from the early 2000s. Due to the relative fragility of the free standing Brookite crystals, they are cast in a special water-soluble resin for protection before they are shipped.
