What a wonderful cluster of blocky dark root beer colored Vesuvianite crystals measuring a whopping 1.8 cm! All crystals of the cluster have an exceptionally good, almost vitreous luster, which is much better than pictured on the photos. They display an excellent striation on the short prism faces and exact, flat and largely perfect terminations. This type of Vesuvianite came from only a handful of alpine-type clefts high up in the slopes of the Shigar Valley, discovered between 2009 and 2010. Although the periphery of the specimen has sections with light brown contacts, a sign of recrystallisation, this is a very excellent piece with very little imperfections that are barely noticeable to the unaided eye.
