Description

The Kupferberg mine near Letmathe in Northwest Germany, which was closed in April 1866, produced relatively few collectable Malachite specimens and even fewer pieces have survived the centuries. All the more astonishing is this highly aesthetic specimen with a wide-open vug that is lined with bright green spherical crystal aggregates. These have a diameter of half a centimeter and form a wonderful contrast to the brown Limonite matrix. A specimen of splendor that is second to none. In any case, I have never come across such a magnificent specimen from this deposit.
