Description

This is without a doubt one of the best and most attractive Barite specimens from the limestone quarries of João Pessoa in the Brazilian state of Paraíba that I have seen in recent years. The crystals are excellently formed as six-sided, thin-tabular individuals, measuring 1.7 cm on edge. The translucent, sharp crystals have a golden brown color. They show a vitreous luster, and are accompanied by tiny sparking golden Pyrite crystals. A superb piece with excellent aesthetics!
