Description

This is a very excellent of the extremely rare Lead mineral Matlockite, which was first discovered in the middle of the 19th century and named for a deposit near Matlock in Derbyshire, England. To this day, pieces from here are considered the best of species and this special piece, even if it is "just" a thumbnail, is of impressive quality and aesthetics. A spherical aggregate, 1.8 cm in diameter, which typically consists of tabular, shiny, pale yolk yellow to beige crystals. Minor damage is easy to forgive due to the overall aesthetics and rarity of the piece, which also had to "survive" for over 150 years. Extremely sought-after material from the type locality that is almost never offered on the collectors’ market.
