Description

This is a classic and old-time ENGLISH RHODOCHROSITE specimen from Durnford Quarry of Long Ashton in Somerset. Here we have a bunch of Calcite scalenohedrons perched in a vug and richly covered with pastel pink, glistening Rhodochrosite crystals. Definitely not best of species but a great locality piece. Quite old material and incomparable with the recent finds in 2007/2008, often offered as Merehead Quarry stuff. Hard to come by due to the circunstance, that just a small number of items exist and most of them are treasured in collections.
