Description

Beautiful hemispheric cluster of countless, slightly curved, sharp Prehnite crystals with excellent vitreous luster. The crystals are translucent to slightly transparent and have an apple green color with a faintly grayish hue. This is a very aesthetic piece with only light contacts on the periphery but undamaged central part. La Combe de la Selle is famous for the production of some of the best Prehnite specimens known. Unfortunately, the locality at an altitude of over 1,800 meters on the north flanks of the Selle valley south east of Grenoble lies in a natural park and collecting is no longer allowed.
