Description
Just look at this classic Zinnwald (Cínovec) Cassiterite: black and brown crystals with a resinous luster up to 1 cm tall in/on typical matrix. The crystals show a great stubby tetragonal crystal form.
Zinnwald is a historic mining district with records of mining activity going back to the Late Middle Ages. The greisen deposit that holds the ore is split across the borders between Saxony, Germany (Zinnwald) and Bohemia, Czech Republic (Cinovec).
