Description
This is an over 8 cm wide specimen studded with 1.6 m tall Calcite scalenohedra. The dogtooth-shaped crystals are light whitish amber yellow, translucent, and with a resinous luster. Calcite and small brown Sphalerite clusters cover a limestone matrix. The specimen is from the Nußloch Quarry, a huge but now abandoned quarry that produced limestone for cement production. Rare material!
