Description
This is an excellent alpine Garnet specimen from the classic alpine garnet deposits “Granatenwand” (Garnet Face) in the Austrian Ötztal, which has been know for its gem quality garnet possibly for 5,000 years. Dark red-brown dodecahedrons up to 2.8 cm with a greasy luster are perched on mica schist, the typical matrix from the Central Alps. The main crystal is a pristine one!
