Description
The Getchell Mine in the north of the US state of Nevada is known for having almost the entire periodic table of elements available (just kidding): Au-Ag-As-W-Sb-Hg-Ba(Barite)-Mo-F-Tl-Te-Bi-Sn-Pb-Zn-Cu. No wonder it produces these incredible crimson red Realgar crystal, which on this specimen are up to 0.6 cm tall. They are well crystallized and show the typical resinous luster. They are very soft with a Mohs hardness of 1½ - 2, which is probably the reason for the rounded edges.
