Description
This is a great Black Forest specimen: Pale purple Fluorite cubes to 2 cm on edge are associated with fine tabular white Barite microcrystals and small lead-grey Galena crystals. The fluorite crystals with their beveled edges display a resinous luster. This is a very good specimen considering that the mineralized vugs in the mine are quite small. The Segen Gottes Mine was the first mine in the Kinzig Valley that I ever visited. In the past, these pieces were simply labeled as “Schnellinger Fluorite”. However, in my opinion, somewhat overzealous collectors, oversimplified the location information, and I stick with the classic locality name of the Segen Gottes Mine.
