Description
Some of our regulars probably think that they have seen this specimen before. This is partially correct. This Rhodochrosite specimen looks very similar to specimen #4949 of auction 23-44. This one, however, is not only bigger, but also more aesthetic. Numerous wide open vugs in typical Manganese ore are lined with dark red sparkling Rhodochrosite scalenohedrons. They are sharp and gemmy with an incredibly deep raspberry red color. This is classic material from the late 1970s, and today, one of the most coveted of the species. A very good and colorful specimen.
