Description

Paradoxite … what a name for a mineral species! It is an obsolete name for flesh-colored Orthoclase (a K-Feldspar) from hydrothermal veins. The species was originally described in 1866 from the Tin mines near Marienberg, Saxony, Germany. This specimen sports light flesh-colored Orthoclase crystals to 1.6 cm associated with small Quartz crystals. The Paradoxite is sharp and lustrous, and the display side is almost pristine. I would get this piece just for the name.
