Description
Cream-white Calcite crystals with a hint of honey-yellow form this incredible cluster. The individual crystals, the largest of which is over 4 cm tall, are relatively sharp, gemmy translucent, and with triangular cross section. A specimen with very good aesthetics from the classic locality Einheit Mine in the Harz Mountains . The mine was an Iron mine, which started in 1889 and closed in 1990. It worked a hydrothermal deposit of the Lahn-Dill type, and extracted Hematite, Siderite and Pyrite as main ore. Since 1992 it has been used on and off as a visitor mine which, unfortunately, permanently closed in 2015.
