Another ore specimen in this auction. A very massive piece of almost pure dark brick-red Zincite with very little cream-colored matrix from where else but the New Jersey Franklin Mine, Franklin, Sussex County, which is also the co-type locality of the species. Co- because it was also found and described from the Sterling Mine, Sterling Hill, Ogdensburg in Sussex County, which is just 3.6 km south of Franklin. This is a very rich specimen with an incredible red color, but wait when you get blinded by neon yellow fluorescence of Zincite under long wave ultraviolet light.
