Description

This is a very excellent and very three-dimensional Fluorite specimen from the Blanchard Mine in central New Mexico. Very precise, loosely intergrown cubes with 1.7 cm on edge are extremely sharp, wonderfully translucent, and have that unmistakable “Blanchard blue”. All the main crystals are pristine, only on the periphery of the specimen there are some easily forgivable imperfections. Definitely an excellent specimen for this great locality, which is not only known for its colorful Linarite and Spangolite but also for its history as well-known mine since the Spanish conquest. Mining took place for Fluorite, Galena and Barite, with owners changing several times.
