Description
A very nice twinned Cassiterite crystal, perfectly exposed on a matrix of Muscovite and Quartz. The , steel gray with a touch of brown colored crystal has sharp edges, a beautiful submetallic luster, and good striations on the crystal faces. Best of all, it is almost undamaged. This is a Spanish classic from the Penouta mines, Galicia in northwest Spain. The mines work a two mica granite stock that has finely disseminated Cassiterite and Columbo-Tantalite. Nice Cassiterite of that size and quality is really hard to find!
