Description
A specimen with numerous bortyoidal-warty light brown Smithsonite crystal clusters on white Calcite; what a great contrast. The clusters consist of typically sharp Smithsonite rhombohedrons with a vitreous luster. The display side of the specimen is almost pristine. This is very aesthetic material, which was still relatively common in the early 1990s, bus has today almost disappeared from the market. And trust me, I know what I am talking about. I have been working to recover specimens from the mines of Lavrion in the ancient Silver mining district south of Athens for decades.
