Description
In itself this would be a beautiful Arsenic specimen with a wonderfully botryoidal, kidney-like structure. However, there are EXCELLENT blood-red Proustite crystals lining several vugs. The largest crystal is 0.7 cm tall with a great termination, and surrounded surrounded by smaller "sidecar" crystals. Extremely well crystallized with sharp edges, and gemmy. The pigeon blood red color is impressively combined with extremely high luster. Proustites from Schlema are among the most sought-after species of the Ore Mountains and, as a matter of fact, worldwide, Proustite is the "Holy Grail" of mineral collectors, and this one is a top example.
