Description
Numerous tiny acicular brass-colored Millerite crystals with a light tarnish richly cover carbonate matrix. The Millerite is associated with Pyrite, Calcite and Dolomite. Good and rich material such as this specimen is hard to come by nowadays, especially as the Nieddoris Mine is abandoned. The mine in Sardinia’s southwest opened in 1865 to exploit a Lead-Silver-Zinc-Cobalt-Nickel mineralisation in quartz-fluorite-siderite gangue.
